Netflix Rolls The Dice On ‘Monopoly’ Competition Series With $2 Million Prize

Netflix has greenlit a competition series based on the classic board game Monopoly, set to premiere in 2027. Twelve players will compete on a life-sized game board for a $2 million prize. Studio Lambert, known for The Traitors and Squid Game: The Challenge, is producing alongside Hasbro Entertainment. Netflix describes the show as a battle where “every negotiation, every decision, and every roll could mean the difference between building an empire and going directly to jail.” Players are eliminated until one winner claims the prize. Monopoly, which has existed for over 90 years, previously inspired short-lived TV game shows in 1990 and 2015. Netflix has already opened a casting call for potential players. Story URL
