Fisherman Had to Release a 100-Year-Old Lobster Back to the Ocean

Here’s a fifth generation Maine fisherman explaining why the 100-year-old lobster he just caught, could ALSO have been caught by his dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

There’s a law in Maine’s lobster industry that says fisherman have to throw back baby lobsters so they’re allowed to grow to maturity, and oversized older lobsters so they can continue to mate.

So, yes, he had to release this one too.
