New in Theaters: "The Mummy" and Bob Odenkirk's "Normal"

1. “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” (R) Trailer
The new gory reimagining of the “Mummy” franchise was written and directed by Lee Cronin, the guy who did “Evil Dead Rise”. It’s been compared more to “The Exorcist” than whatever other Mummy movie might come to your mind.
In this version, the young daughter of an American family is kidnapped while they’re in Egypt. She’s found alive eight years later in a sarcophagus. Then we watch as her parents (Jack Reynor and Laia Costa) desperately try to connect with the thing their daughter has become.
2. “Normal” (R)
An action film from Derek Kolstad, better known as the creator of both the “John Wick” franchise and the “Nobody” movies.
It stars Bob Odenkirk as a new small-town sheriff who responds to a botched bank robbery, then has to fight for his life after the whole town turns against him to cover up a dark secret. Henry Winkler and Lena Headey are also in it.
PROFANITY WARNING: The trailer has A-holes and S-words in it.
3. “Lorne” (R) Trailer
A documentary about “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels. It features exclusive archived footage, and candid interviews with some of the show’s most iconic cast members and writers including Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, John Mulaney, Andy Samberg, Conan O’Brien, and Chris Rock.
