Lainey Wilson Opens Up About Marathon Panic Attack, Mental Health Struggles

Lainey Wilson reveals she experienced a days-long panic attack in 2019 after reaching her “breaking point” during her climb to country music stardom. The 33-year-old singer sought help from three therapists, including one for business matters, to restore her mental equilibrium. Wilson’s struggles stemmed from an exhausting four-month radio tour promoting her music across America. “I was burned-out from having to constantly be on,” she explained. “I wanted to curl up in a little ball and shut the world out completely.” The Louisiana native spent eight years working toward her recording contract after moving to Nashville at 19, living in a camper while pursuing her dreams. Wilson now advocates for mental health awareness, urging people to “speak up when you’re not feeling great.” She shares her story in the upcoming Netflix documentary Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool.
