The website HuffPost interviewed some older guys — over the age of 50 — and asked how their values have changed through the years. Some of the things they say they’ve completely stopped caring about include:

  • Ugly shoes – If they’re comfortable, even Crocs, they’re in play.
  • Regular haircuts – Does your lettuce really need to be that high and that tight?
  • Looking busy – When at work, head for the door when the work’s done.
  • Wearing different clothes every day – A sniff test should be good enough.

There’s something to be said about not caring what other people think of you. There’s also something to be said about maintaining certain standards as you get older.

Where are you at on this? Are there things you used to focus on — that you now realize was a waste of time?
