The Top 5 movies this weekend:

  1. Toy Story 5 — $70 million
  2. Supergirl — $38 million
  3. Obsession — $9.8 million
  4. Jackass: Best and Last — $8.4 million
  5. Disclosure Day — $8.1 million

DC Studios’ Supergirl failed to launch as hoped, opening with an estimated $38 million domestically to finish second behind Toy Story 5, which earned $70 million in its second weekend. The superhero film, reportedly carrying a production budget of about $170 million, now faces an uphill battle to turn a profit.

The soft debut adds to DC’s recent box office struggles and raises questions about the franchise’s momentum despite strong marketing and the character’s popularity.

Meanwhile, Jackass: Best and Last also underperformed with a third place $8 million debut, while Obsession and Backrooms rounded out the weekend’s Top 5.
