Eddie Murphy is celebrating a new addition to his family: a granddaughter born to his son and the daughter of fellow comedian Martin Lawrence.

Murphy said his son, Eric Murphy, and Jasmin Lawrence recently welcomed a baby girl named Ari Skye. The child is the first for the couple and creates a shared grandchild between the longtime friends and collaborators.

The actor revealed the news during an appearance at an awards event, noting the baby arrived within the past couple of weeks.
