A tough loss for fans of early‑2000s film and TV.

Actress Daveigh Chase — best known as the eerie child at the center of The Ring and the voice of Lilo in Lilo & Stitch — has died.

Chase died Tuesday from meningitis and a blood infection that led to sepsis. She had been hospitalized earlier this month in Los Angeles, initially dealing with malnutrition before her condition became more serious.

Chase became a breakout child star in the early 2000s, voicing Lilo in Disney’s hit animated film and delivering a haunting performance as Samara in The Ring, which earned her an MTV Movie Award.

She later appeared in Big Love and a range of TV and film roles.

Daveigh Chase was 35. (TMZ)
