House hunters consider many factors when choosing a new home. Are the schools good? Is the neighborhood safe? How long is my commute to work? But apparently there is a new must-have to add to the list: Is there a Costco nearby? According to USA Today, the warehouse giant has developed such a loyal following that some shoppers are choosing where to live based on how close they are to a store, valuing easy access to bulk bargains, gas discounts, and those famously cheap hot dogs. The trend is even influencing real estate conversations, with proximity to Costco becoming a selling point added to listings in some markets. So, while a three-car garage, central air conditioning, and a pool might be nice things to have, a Costco located just minutes away may really seal the deal.
