Ashley McBryde has created a full-circle moment by inviting 11-year-old singer Sawyer June to make her Grand Ole Opry debut. The two first met backstage at the Opry in February, when McBryde noticed Sawyer singing along to every word of “Light On In the Kitchen.” Learning Sawyer was also a singer, McBryde grabbed her guitar and the two harmonized on “Bible And A .44.” McBryde followed Sawyer on social media and promised to watch her journey. She recently called into WSM radio to deliver the surprise invitation, saying, “On behalf of the folks at the Grand Ole Opry, we’d love to invite you to stand in the circle.” An emotional Sawyer accepted, calling it “the biggest honor I’ve ever had in my life.” A debut date has not yet been announced. Story URL
