The sad story of Daveigh Chase’s death just got sadder.  According to the coroner’s report, she died of AIDS.  “Chronic polysubstance use” was also a factor.  That means she’d ingested more than one drug in a short period of time.

Daveigh was only 35 when she died on June 16th. She’d been admitted to an L.A. hospital due to malnutrition.  Her alleged boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, claimed she had meningitis and several blood infections that turned her body septic.

Daveigh rose to fame as the voice of Lilo in the original, animated version of “Lilo & Stitch”.  She also played the evil ghost girl Samara in “The Ring”, and Jake Gyllenhaal’s little sister in “Donnie Darko”.

Her other credits included “Big Love”“Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, and “ER”.  She disappeared from Hollywood in 2016, and her last decade was marked by addiction, homelessness, and estrangement from her family.
