John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” has become the victory anthem for the U.S. Men’s National Team at the World Cup.  After the team’s win against Australia, the song was blasted through the speakers.

FIFA asked each country’s team to send in a list of potential songs to play after a win.  The team came up with three: Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline”Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer”, and the John Denver classic.

England claimed Neil Diamond, FIFA is using Bon Jovi for their second half hydration break, so that left John Denver to be the U.S.’s own.
