Oklahoma Parade Sets New World Record With 3,596 Classic Cars

Tulsa’s Route 66 Capital Cruise broke the Guinness World Record for largest classic car parade on Saturday, featuring 3,596 vehicles and surpassing the previous record by 1,105 cars. The parade celebrated Route 66’s 100th anniversary and included drivers from 42 states, Canada, and France. “I am so proud of Tulsa and so thrilled to set a new world record,” said Mayor Monroe Nichols. The event was nearly a year-long effort to showcase Tulsa as the Capital of Route 66. Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell called it “a Super Bowl in Oklahoma,” noting the parade nearly doubled the existing world record. “Capital Cruise was a massive undertaking, and it paid off in a massive way,” Pinnell said, adding that it proves Route 66 remains central to Oklahoma’s history and future.
