Paramount officially announced Top Gun 3, with Tom Cruise returning as Maverick, during its CinemaCon presentation yesterday in Las Vegas. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer will also return for the sequel to Joseph Kosinski’s 2022 blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick. The third installment was first revealed to be in development in 2024. Top Gun: Maverick became a massive hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, earning $1.5 billion globally against a $170 million budget. The film provided crucial support to struggling movie theaters at the time. Cruise returned to his iconic pilot role 36 years after the 1986 original, with Maverick training new pilots for a dangerous mission. Story URL
