The same day that Savannah Guthrie returned to the Today show, TMZ received two more ransom notes. The second claimed, “I saw Nancy Guthrie alive in the state of Sonora, Mexico.”

A criminal expert said, “Visibility brings opportunity. And not just for real leads but for people looking to cash in.”

This person who emailed TMZ claimed to know “where her body is and who the kidnapper is.” They demanded “half a Bitcoin” to share the info. Yesterday, Bitcoin was trading at $68,000.

TMZ suspects the FBI has determined that this person is not legitimate. The two ransom notes contradict the status of Nancy’s well-being. Savannah would have paid $34,000 to an authentic ransom. The Guthrie family offered in February a $1 million reward for the return of her mother.
