Kansas Dealership Can’t Deliver Sold Truck Due To Protected Robin’s Nest

An Olathe Ford Lincoln dealership cannot deliver a sold F-250 pickup because a robin built her nest on the truck’s tire. The dealership discovered the nest after an employee noticed the mother robin constructing it. “Over the next few days, she laid four beautiful blue eggs, and today, those eggs officially hatched,” the dealership announced on social media. Federal law protects active robin nests under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, preventing the dealership from moving the vehicle. “This may be the only F-250 in America currently protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act,” officials noted. The customers who purchased the truck have been understanding about the delay. “We want to give a huge THANK YOU to our incredibly kind and understanding customers, who have been so patient and thoughtful while we wait for these little ones to grow up and leave the nest safely,” the dealership said.
