Patrick Swayze  (1952 – 2009)  Fought cancer as bravely as he fought those troublemakers at the Double Deuce, or the Russians and the Cubans in “Red Dawn”.

Maia Mitchell is 33.  Callie on “The Fosters”.  Now she’s on Disney’s “The Artful Dodger” series.

Anna Akana is 37.  YouTube star who’s slowly breaking into acting.  She’s had minor roles in “Ant-Man” and Comedy Central’s “Corporate”.  If you’re a “Star Wars” nerd, check her out as a blind jedi in the fan film “Hoshino“.

Andy Samberg is 48.  Jake Peralta on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.

Kaitlin Olson is 51.  Sweet Dee on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, and Mickey on the Fox series “The Mick”.

Edward Norton is 57.  THE star of “The Incredible Hulk”.  Unfortunately, he wasn’t asked to return for “The Avengers” because he’s difficult to work with.  I guess people just don’t like him when he’s angry.

Christian Slater is 57. Edward Alderson on “Mr. Robot”.

Masta Killa is 57. One of the lesser-known members of the Wu Tang Clan.

Craig Bierko is 62. Chet on “UnREAL”. Before that he was Jeffrey Coho on “Boston Legal”.

Bob Woodruff is 65. ABC journalist nearly killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq.

Madeleine Stowe is 68. Victoria Grayson on “Revenge”.

Denis Leary is 69. Bitter comic who played washed up rock star Johnny Rock on the FX series “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll”.  He was also the creator and star of “Rescue Me”.  Your kids may know him as Gwen Stacy’s dad in “The Amazing Spider-Man”, and as Diego the sabretooth tiger in those “Ice Age” flicks.

Roman Polanski is 93.  Brilliant filmmaker, so many amazing films . . . which are all difficult to watch knowing what he did.

Rosalynn Carter  (1927 – 2023)  Former First Lady and Mrs. Jimmy Carter.

Roberto Clemente  (1934 – 1972)  Original en fuego Major League Baseball player.  When he first came to the league the White Devil tried to call him BOB Clemente. He died in a plane crash while trying to deliver supplies to earthquake-stricken Nicaragua.

Martin Mull  (1943 – 2024)  Leon on “Roseanne”, and Colonel Mustard in “Clue“.
