Escapee is Ape-rehended

A wildlife rescuer in Missouri figured a recent call about a “monkey sighting” was just another prank or someone mistaken, but it turned out the caller wasn’t monkeying around.

Michael Beran, who runs Wildlife Command Center near St. Louis, says he’s used to people thinking they see monkeys — but this time, a FaceTime call showed an actual capuchin sitting in a homeowner’s garage. When Beran arrived, the monkey — which the caller said looked like the one from Friends — darted onto the homeowner’s shoulder and slipped into a laundry room. In the smaller space, Beran was able to safely scoop it up and get it into a carrier.

A short time later, 911 got a report of a missing capuchin named Chico. Authorities confirmed the owner had the proper permits, and Chico was returned home without incident.  (KSDK-TV St. Louis)
