Stolen Gas Station Dinosaur Returned To L.A. With Apology Note
A 50-pound fiberglass dinosaur named Claire was returned to a Los Angeles Sinclair gas station Monday with an apologetic note after being stolen last week. The 4-foot-tall mascot was taken from the Brentwood location on San Vicente Boulevard using power tools and loaded into a pickup truck. A station clerk found Claire wrapped in fabric with a note reading “I’m sorry for stealing. Please don’t charge me!” Security footage showed the same white pickup returning the dinosaur after midnight. The theft gained attention from residents including actor Jamie Lee Curtis, who posted on Instagram saying “REALLY! Hey, you with your fancy truck, really? You need to steal the dinosaur from in front of the Sinclair gas station? Really? Not cool dude. Not cool!” No arrests were reported by Los Angeles Police Department. (Story URL)
