Florida Man Busted After Destroying Police Decoy Surveillance Camera

A 24-year-old Florida man was arrested after destroying what he believed was a Flock Safety surveillance camera — but was actually a police decoy. Evan Meyer was caught around 1 AM Thursday in Oviedo, Seminole County, roughly three hours after officers installed the fake camera. Dressed in all black, wearing gloves and a face mask, Meyer used his father’s pruning shears to knock the device off its pole and smash it. He told police he was “uncomfortable” with Flock cameras and had “been hearing all the negative things online about the misuses of Flock cameras.” Meyer, who stands 6’3″ and earns $200 weekly as a stagehand for a magic show, was charged with three felonies and released on $7,500 bond. Story URL
