Scientists growing hair follicles in the lab

Researchers have successfully grown functional hair follicles in a lab that actually behave like the real thing. The big breakthrough was figuring out how to get these things to naturally cycle through periods of growth and rest — which has allowed the follicles to attach to tissue and sprout hair without needing an immediate transplant. To be clear, they haven’t cured baldness. And they’ve only tested this new way of doing things on mice. But it looks like the breakthrough is a massive leap toward being able to simply regrow a full head of hair from scratch.
