1.  “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”  (PG-13)  Trailer 1, Trailer 2, Trailer 3

 

 

Tom Holland returns as a solitary, more mature Peter Parker for the start of the next trilogy, as a full-time Spider-Man in a world where nobody remembers him.  It’s directed by the guy who did “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.

 

 

The action picks up four years after the events of “No Way Home”, where Peter had to voluntarily erase himself from everyone’s memories to stop all of those multiverse incursions that he’d caused by messing up Dr. Strange’s spell.

 

 

As a new threat emerges, Spider-Man is the only who can stop it . . . but then his powers start to mutate uncontrollably.  So he turns to Bruce Banner, the one guy he knows with some experience controlling his own transformation into the Hulk.

 

 

Zendaya and Jacob Batalan are back as his former friends MJ and Ned.  Jon Bernthal shows up as the Punisher.  Mark Ruffalo is the Hulk.  Sadie Sink from “Stranger Things” has some kind of secret role.  And Peter FINALLY gets his own organic web-shooters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

(Internet speculation about Sadie Sink’s mystery character is all over the place, with the guesses including Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Mayday Parker (Peter’s daughter from an alternate timeline), or the movie’s main villain.  Jimmy Fallon had some fun with that on “The Tonight Show”.  Check out Sadie evasively reacting to those rumors here.)

 

 

 

 

 

2.  “I Want Your Sex”  (R)  Trailer

 

 

Cooper Hoffman gets a job working for Olivia Wilde, and she taps him to become her submissive sexual muse for her art.  But then he becomes a murder suspect when she disappears after he finds her body floating in the pool.  The rest of the cast includes Charli XCX, Daveed Diggs, Mason Gooding, Chase Sui Wonders, Margaret Cho, and Johnny Knoxville.

 

 

 

 

 

3.  “Above and Below”  (Not Yet Rated)  Trailer  (Opened Wednesday)

 

While Laura Marano is vacationing in Mexico in a cage surrounded by sharks, her friends aboard the boat are attacked by a cartel run by Antonio Banderas, who’s after the cocaine they found during one of their dives.
