Coy “Denver” Parton, the older brother of country music legend Dolly Parton, has died at age 82. He worked as a crane operator, homestead farmer, and avid hunter throughout his life. He is survived by two daughters, Chris and Jennifer Parton, and a grandson, Ian Parton. He is also survived by seven sisters, including Dolly, Stella, and Willadeene Parton. His wife, Carolyn, preceded him in death. Described by Taste of Country as “perhaps the most private” member of the Parton family, Denver was one of 12 children born to Avie Lee Owens Parton and Robert Lee Parton. His passing follows Dolly Parton’s recent losses of brother Randy Parton in 2021 and husband Carl Dean earlier this year. Story URL
