What’s REALLY stressing you out right now?  Deadlines . . . looking for a job . . . money . . . dating . . . your parents . . . your kids . . . travel . . . picking out a Halloween costume?  (???)

In a new survey, 11% of adults say they’ve already picked out a Halloween costume for this year . . . 12% are still struggling with what to be . . . and another 12% are still unsure if they’re dressing up this year or not.

30% of people say they ENJOY the process of picking out a costume, but 8% admit that they “find it stressful.”

Women are more likely to be stressed over costumes than men . . . and young people are more stressed by it than older folks.  In fact, only 2% of Boomers say they’re “stressed” by choosing Halloween costumes.

For the people who HAVE decided, here are the looks they’re going for:

33% say theirs is “completely store-bought” . . . 15% say their costume is completely homemade . . . and 47% say it’s a mix of bought and homemade.

49% say their costume is “simple.”

27% say it’s “creative.”

25% say it’s “funny.”

24% say it’s “unique.”

17% say it’s “relevant.”  (Maybe something topical from the news?)

12% say it’s “scary.”

8% say it’s “sexy.”  (Which some say is “played out” these days.)

And 3% say their costume is “extravagant.”

52% are going as a fictional person or character.  14% are going as a “concept.”  13% will be “an animal or creature.”  10% will be a living person . . . another 10% are going as a person from history . . . and another 10% will be an “object.”
