Surfer Set World Record on GIANT Wave
Way back in October of 2020, surfer Sebastian Steudtner rode a giant wave off the coast of Portugal. It took Guinness World Records about 18 months to confirm that Steudtner did — indeed — ride the largest wave in human history.
It was officially measured by the Guinness people as 86 feet tall.
Steudtner did his best to explain what it was like riding an 86-foot wave: “It’s the fastest I ever felt going on a surfboard. I had tears coming out of my eyes because of the wind. My face was melting. It was crazy. I didn’t imagine that could happen in surfing until that day.”
