Vinyl Record Sales Hit $1 Billion Last Year for the First Time Since 1983

The comeback of vinyl records hit a new milestone in 2025. The Recording Industry Association of America says it surpassed the $1 BILLION mark in sales last year, for the first time since 1983.
Swifties are partly to thank for this. Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” was the top-selling vinyl of 2025. And that included EIGHT versions. The “Kpop Demon Hunters” soundtrack was also a popular buy.
Vinyl was the most popular physical format. 46.8 million records were sold compared to 29.5 million CDs.
