An East Tennessee native, growing up in a small community outside of Kingston Tennessee. Trent James
has always had a passion for music. He knew from a very young age. It started when he was 8 years old
and his father gave him his first guitar. Old Rock –n- Roll music, influenced Trent and his favorite artist
was Elvis Presley. Some of the locals would call Trent” Little Elvis”. While he would sit on a soda icebox
picking and singing at his parent’s local community grocery store and entertain the customers as they
shopped.
Trent was drawn to country music and inspired by artist such Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Ronnie
Millsap’s; Conway Twitty, and Travis Tritt among many others have influenced his style. Trent writes and
sings his own music along with paying tribute to the Legends of Country music. He performs all over East
Tennessee from small venues to large. He enjoys playing them all. Trent believes that music tells a story
that people can connect to, from breakups to heartaches to falling in love, it connects people and he
wants his songs to have that kind of impact on people as they listen. That when they leave his show they
see a real country artist that is passionate about what he loves.
Trent did not start out being the front man and having his own band. Growing up at age 16, He played
with various gospel groups touring all over the southeast region playing the drums. It became later that
I decided I wanted to start my own career as a performer and front man. I love looking out and seeing
people in the audience singing along and enjoying. As an independent artist, I want to add pieces of my
own footprints to my music legacy. I believe country music will always be relevant because it connects
with people and brings people together for the better. I want my music to have that kind of impact. I am
writing new songs and I hope to get in the studio and get them recorded so I can share my music with
everyone. I am excited about a song that I wrote for my wife, I believe when people hear the song they
will be able to relate to the lyrics. Because if you have ever been in a relationship for a long period this
question is ask at some point. My new single title is “Like I want you”. I am excited about this song and I
hope everyone will love it as much as I do.
