Star Wars: A New Hope will receive its first-ever IMAX screening when it re-releases February 19, 2027 to celebrate the original film’s 50th anniversary. The 1977 classic will screen in both IMAX 70mm and digital IMAX formats. Joining the anniversary celebration, Ryan Gosling’s Star Wars: Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy, hits theaters May 28, 2027, exactly 50 years after the franchise debuted. Gosling plays a cynical rogue pulled into a dangerous galaxy-spanning adventure. The film’s cast includes Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Amy Adams, and Aaron Pierre.
