A truck driver in California got called out by the Highway Patrol after he was caught driving his massive rig while watching an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on his cellphone.

Officers at the CHP’s Cordelia inspection station in Fairfield say they spotted the show playing on a phone mounted right in the driver’s line of sight. They posted about it on Facebook afterward, saying the driver was “boldly going where no driver should go,” and used the moment to remind everyone that distracted driving is dangerous — especially in a huge truck. Their message was simple: driving demands full attention, screens can wait, and safety isn’t science fiction.
