Postal Worker Arrested For DUI After Police Chase During Mail Delivery Shift

A 35-year-old USPS driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after leading San Bernardino County deputies on a chase during his mail delivery shift last Tuesday. Deputies responded around 6:30 p.m. to Highland Avenue and Church Street after reports the postal worker “was exhibiting unusual behavior and had stopped making mail deliveries,” according to the Sheriff’s Department. The driver refused orders from a USPS supervisor to stop and failed to yield when deputies attempted a traffic stop near Terrace Drive. The chase ended when the postal vehicle stopped on Applewood Street, where deputies arrested the worker. He was released from custody the following day. The Sheriff’s Department did not specify what unusual behavior prompted the initial response or provide additional details about the incident. Story URL
