A 1st edition “Shadowless” Charizard Pokémon card that originally cost just $2 in 1999 has shocked the collecting world by selling for $40,000 at a recent auction in England. Described as the “holy grail” of the franchise, this rare card is somehow, some way, still in near-perfect mint condition, while most other cards from the era were lost or damaged by play over the last 25 years.
