n different areas across the country, city officials are warning people about a scam that involves text messages about unpaid city parking tickets. Of course, the advice is do NOT engage with these text messages — and do NOT scan the QR code.

Parking tickets are already a nuisance, waste-of-time, money-suck. The idea that scammers and thieves are banging around, making this worse, is just gross and inhuman.
