Our thanks to everyone who joined in this week to donate to the Humane Education Society of Chattanooga in honor of what would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday January 17th. The Betty White Birthday Challenge has been a huge success both locally and nationally with thousands and thousands of dollars raised for one of Betty’s biggest concerns…the welfare of animals.

And here’s another reason to like Betty White. She made it known years ago that she’s always been a big fan of classic Country music and a huge fan of Dolly Parton.  In a 2010 interview Betty said, “Country music tells stories, and it’s also basic,” Betty said. “It’s the kind of music that reaches right inside of you because it’s simple and it’s direct. I just enjoy it thoroughly. It’s relaxing and nostalgic. It can turn on some lovely memories and sometimes some poignant ones.”
