NFL Officially Launches Flag Football League

The National Football League officially announced its new professional flag football league Monday, partnering with TMRW Sports and securing major investors including Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Serena Williams, Billie Jean King, Joe Montana, and Alex Morgan. The NFL’s venture arm is contributing up to $32 million to launch the league, which will feature both men’s and women’s teams. Officials aim to start operations before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where flag football will debut as an Olympic sport. “This is especially meaningful for girls and young women who are helping drive the sport’s growth worldwide,” said NFL executive VP Troy Vincent Sr. The league addresses growing demand for women’s sports programming while providing safer football alternatives amid ongoing concussion concerns in traditional football.
