A Hamilton County man who tried posing as his ‘brother’ in a court hearing Tuesday morning was arrested after fleeing from the courthouse and leading officers on a foot chase.

On the morning of May 26th, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says Dillon Barrett appeared in Chancellor Pamela Fleenor’s courtroom for an order of protection.

Barrett told the courtroom he was not himself and said he was appearing on behalf of his “brother” in an apparent attempt to conceal his identity.

After answering a phone call, Barrett fled the building, prompting a foot chase toward the parking garage at the intersection of Chestnut Street and W. 7th Street.

HCSO says Barrett was quickly found and taken into custody.

Barrett has active warrants out of both Hamilton County and Alabama.
