Jimbo’s “Animals Gone Wild” – Owl Found Sleeping On Antique Store Shelf Next To Cookie Jar
Owl Found Sleeping On Antique Store Shelf Next To Cookie Jar

A sleepy eastern screech owl was discovered perched on a shelf inside an East Durham antique store in Greene County, New York. Shoppers noticed the bird resting next to a chicken-shaped cookie jar on February 21st and initially thought the owl appeared “extremely lifelike” before realizing it was actually a living bird. The New York Department of Environmental Conservation dispatched Officer Darren Milliron to handle the unusual situation. He carefully collected the owl and transported it to a nearby wooded area, where it flew into a tree. “This species of owl is nocturnal and typically nests in tree cavities, not store shelves,” the department’s press release said.
