Men Surrender After Stealing 200 Stuffed Animals From ‘Big’ Movie Amusement Park
Three New Jersey men have turned themselves in for allegedly stealing 200 stuffed animals and causing $57,000 in damage at Playland Amusement Park in Rye, New York. Police say Connor Evancho, 20, Daniel Bracco, 19, and Anthony Conkling, 19, arrived by rowboat during overnight hours of September 23-24 and climbed a fence to enter the seasonal park featured in the 1988 Tom Hanks film Big. Authorities report they vandalized an electrical room by cutting fiber-optic cables, stole stuffed animals in garbage bags, and tried unsuccessfully to throw a photo booth off the boardwalk. All three face felony charges of burglary and criminal mischief, plus misdemeanor trespassing and larceny. (Story URL)
