Ella Langley Surprised Her Mentor with a Custom Guitar
Ella Langley returned to Auburn University for two sold-out shows and took time to honor one of the people who helped launch her music career.
Years ago, her former teacher and mentor, Maury “Coach Pop” Popwell, gave her his guitar when she moved to Nashville to chase her country music dreams.
So, she recently got to return the favor with a custom guitar as a “thank you” for his support. Coach Pop has been teaching for 57 years, but it’s safe to say Ella is his most-famous student.
