The fallout from the controversial Michigan victory over Western Michigan on Saturday continues. After Big Ten replay officials rewound the clock to give the Wolverines one last snap — which turned into a game-winning 47-yard touchdown pass — the NCAA issued a memo forcing all replay crews to use the official stadium clock or broadcast graphic when adjusting time. This “standard timing protocol” should — hopefully — help officials avoid the chaos that occurred when fans were watching a game that was over, with double-zeros on the clock … until it wasn’t.
