A Thief Hired a Waymo So He Didn't Need a "Getaway Driver"
Sometimes a REALLY dumb plan . . . somehow works out.
A thief in San Francisco opted NOT to have a getaway driver, and just hired a Waymo . . . so the CAR would drive itself outta dodge.
The man robbed a hot yoga studio (which is VERY San Francisco) . . . and apparently got away with “an armload of activewear.” Or “men’s shorts.”
That sounds stupid, because Waymo is run through an app and there are cameras ALL OVER those cars. But somehow, it’s been about SIX MONTHS, and they still can’t find this guy.
Technically, they MIGHT know who he is. But there haven’t been any arrests, and he hasn’t been publicly identified. So he could be sitting around his house . . . doing yoga in stolen activewear.
The detective even admitted, “I’d think it would be easier to solve in a Waymo.” But it sounds like the guy booked the Waymo with stolen information or a burner phone. And the video footage didn’t help much either.
