A Drunk Driver Had a "Drive Sober" License Plate
You’ve probably seen mugshots where criminals are wearing shirts with IRONIC MESSAGES . . . but this is new.
Troopers in Arizona arrested a driver on Saturday, who was driving under the influence. They originally pulled them over for a broken tail-light, but when they talked to the driver, there were obvious signs of impairment.
The driver even admitted to drinking and driving. And a blood alcohol test later showed they were 2.5 times the legal limit.
The crazy part was the driver had a vanity license plate on the front of their vehicle that said: “ARRIVE ALIVE” . . . and around the edges, it said, “Drive sober: Or get pulled over.”
The police said, “A lesson in practice what you preach.”
(Here’s a look at the plate. These “Arrive Alive” plates have been part of anti-drunk driving campaigns, including being on cop cars. It’s unclear if this person was affiliated with the campaign. To be clear, they presumably also had an actual plate on the back of the vehicle.)
