Some country artists wear a cowboy hat because they are country artists and it’s part of the uniform. Others wear one because, well, they’re cowboys. Zach Top was a cowboy on his family’s ranch in Washington, and he may be modest about his skills, but he still has them.

Zach Top is modest about his cowboying, but he’s still got skills.  Zach said, “I’m, I like to say I spent enough time on a horse’s back looking at the cow’s behind that I can wear the hat without any shame, but I would not, I ain’t no top hand, that’s for sure. But I’ll throw a calf around in a branding. I can still make myself a little bit useful.”

You figure those calves weigh between 60 and 100 pounds. After throwing a half dozen of those babies around, you’re feeling it.  We’re pretty glad Zach made his way to country music. He’s pretty good at it.
