You’d think this would be obvious . . . but then again, there are porch pirates who are willing to steal RIGHT IN FRONT of a doorbell camera.
A 24-year-old man in Michigan named Spencer Anderson is facing charges for smashing several license plate readers.
Those are the cameras that are mounted on traffic lights, poles, and bridges, which help police track stolen cars, and other vehicles of interest, like in cases involving missing persons. (As opposed to “red light cameras.”)
The police KNEW Spencer destroyed the license plate readers . . . because his vehicle was recorded on one of the license plate readers. They also looked at the security footage from neighboring businesses to catch him in the act.
Spencer is facing three felony charges of “malicious destruction of police property.” It’s unclear WHY he did it. Clearly he didn’t like them . . . but there’s no word why he didn’t want them monitoring him.
