How Technology Helped Randy Travis Sing Again

You may have heard Randy Travis singing a new song on Q97.3/99.3 and wondered to yourself, “how can this be?”.  After all, Randy was robbed of his singing ability along with a number of other life-changing complications when he suffered a devastating stroke several years ago. But with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), Randy is singing again. How all this came to be is quite an interesting story. But one of the most critical elements in the high-tech production of this new song was finding a singer whose voice, singing style, and cadence was similar to Randy’s. That turned out to be country singer James Dupre. Dale Mitchell spoke to James recently about his part in the production of Randy’s new song, “Where That Came From”:
