1. “The Social Reckoning” (R)
Jeremy Allen White is “Wall Street Journal” reporter Jeff Horwitz, the guy who helped a Facebook data engineer leak thousands of incriminating documents back in 2021. Jeremy Strong is Mark Zuckerberg and the whistleblower is played by Mikey Madison, who you may remember as Amber in 2022’s “Scream”.

2. “Other Mommy” (R) Trailer 1 and Trailer 2
A young girl named Bela forms a relationship with a sinister entity that appears to her in the form of her mother . . . Jessica Chastain. Bela is played by Arabella Olivia Clark from “The Housemaid”, Jay Duplass from “Transparent” is her dad, and Karen Allen from “Raiders of the Lost Ark” is also in it as the kid’s grandma.
3. “Angel and the Badman” (PG-13) Trailer
Zachary Levi stars in this remake of a 1947 John Wayne classic. He plays a wounded gunslinger stumbling his way toward redemption after a frontier family finds him and nurses him back to health. Neal McDonough leads the gang that’s chasing him, and 80-year-old Tommy Lee Jones is the U.S. marshal keeping his tired old eyes on them both.
4. And now, some limited releases you may or may not care about:
—“The Beast”, starring Samuel L. Jackson as a president forced to drive his own presidential limo after an attack wipes out most of his protective detail. It also stars Joel Kinnaman as a wounded Secret Service agent being chauffeured around as Jackson defends them with the limo’s arsenal of high tech weapons. (Trailer)
—“Animals”, a crime thriller starring Ben Affleck as an L.A. mayoral candidate trying to get his kidnapped son back, and Kerry Washington as his wife. Steven Yeun from “The Walking Dead” and Gillian Anderson are also in it. (Trailer)
