Mitchell Tenpenny, his 10Penny Fund, and several artist friends joined the Grand Ole Opry this week to raise awareness for cancer patients and their families’ emotional and mental health needs. Performers included Chris Young, Lee Brice, Devin Dawson, Ernest, Sierra Hull, Jackie Lee, and Jo Dee Messina. Cancer survivor Macy Page, sister-in-law to Thomas Rhett, served as guest announcer. Young pledged $25,000 to the 10Penny Fund, while the Opry donated $5 from every ticket sold. Tenpenny’s foundation also presented a $110,000 check to Cancer Support Community, launching a new partnership. The evening ended with Tenpenny performing “Walk Like Him,” written about his late father. His wife, Meghan Patrick, made a surprise appearance performing “Golden Child.” Source URL
