Publisher Z2 Comics is reissuing Hello, I’m Johnny Cash, a comic book co-written by the Man in Black himself. Originally released in 1976, the comic features artwork by Al Hartley, known for his work with Archie Comics, and was co-written by Billy Zeoli. The story covers Cash’s rise to fame while addressing substance abuse, his divorce from Vivian Liberto, and legal troubles. The new edition includes two collector cover variants by Chip Kidd and Tim Bradstreet, plus contributions from journalist Alex Segura and Cash’s son, John Carter Cash. “Having people celebrate something as unique as this comic, and the continued interest in my father says as much about the fans as it does about him,” John Carter said.
