After receiving an unusually high number of calls reporting Bigfoot sightings, police in Damariscotta launched an investigation. Officers eventually tracked down the creature and discovered it was actually a man wearing what police described as a “very convincing costume.” Despite the disappointing end to the mystery, the department praised residents for looking out for one another, saying the episode showed just how willing the community is to come together and keep each other safe.
