It’s National Drive-Thru Day . . . and while many people wouldn’t say fast food is CHEAP anymore, a lot of us do appreciate the CONVENIENCE, assuming the line keeps moving.
A recent report analyzed the average drive-thru wait times at fast-food joints . . . and there’s something to the saying, “good things come to those who wait.”
As for the FASTEST, Taco Bell ranked #1, by total time, for the FIFTH consecutive year . . . with an average total time of 256 seconds, or just over four minutes.
KFC is second, followed by Tim Hortons . . . Arby’s . . . Wendy’s . . . Dunkin’ . . . Burger King . . . McDonald’s . . . Starbucks . . . and Dutch Bros.
The chicken places took longer. Chick-fil-A ranked last at 427 seconds . . . or about seven minutes. (Which, at some locations, wouldn’t be bad AT ALL.)
Popeyes was the second-slowest, followed by Raising Cane’s.
Chick-fil-A, Dutch Bros, and Raising Cane’s have the most cars in line, on average. Arby’s has the emptiest drive-thrus, followed by KFC.
Dutch Bros had the best “order accuracy,” followed by Dunkin’. KFC was the worst at that, followed by Popeyes.
Chick-fil-A may be a long line, but when asked about “friendliness” at the drive-thru, Chick-fil-A was number one, followed by Dutch Bros and Raising Cane’s. McDonald’s was last, followed by Dunkin’ and Popeyes.
And when asked about “overall satisfaction,” Chick-fil-A was again number one, followed by Dutch Bros and Raising Cane’s. Popeyes was last, followed by McDonald’s and Dunkin’.
So friendliness seemed like it was more closely associated with satisfaction than speed.
