A Louisiana man led state police on a chase that got very exciting when an alligator suddenly got involved.

Authorities say 40-year-old Victor Rivas was wanted for reckless driving and possible DUI when troopers tried to pull him over near New Orleans. He fled on foot, even jumping from an elevated roadway into a swamp. When police tracked him down again, he ran back into the marsh where an alligator bit his arms.

Despite his injuries, Rivas kept trying to get away before officers finally caught him with the help of a drone. He was treated at a hospital and then taken to jail, facing multiple charges including impaired driving, hit and run, and resisting arrest. Police say the incident is a dramatic reminder that impaired driving can lead to unpredictable — and sometimes wild — consequences. (NBC News)
